June means softball, swimming, summer camp and hurting ourselves. Here are the youngest 3 at the pool one warmer day.
Patrick is having the best summer ever. First he flew for the first time to visit Christendom College in Fort Royal, VA. After a week living the college life, he flew home and jumped on the train for Philmont. For those who don't know, Philmont it THE Scout camp in New Mexico. Yes, he is sporting a beard this summer because he can.
Mary is always happy to share a smile.
Becca is again kicking butt and taking names as a member of the Washington Water Jets. Softball and swim meets often over lap but we have made it to a couple.
Last week, Mike and George went just west of Peoria for a week of Scout camp. I will have another post with those pictures soon.
Cecilia is loving this softball season. Her coach is amazing with is positive and helpful feedback.
Here is Patrick after his Philmont trip. After two weeks of dehydrated food, he said McDonald's tasted good. I don't have pictures of his trip but I'm sure he'll be happy to share with you if you ask.
Mike, the girls, and I attended a Peoria Chiefs game with our Cub Scout pack.
After a long delay, our parish is finally moving forward with the renovations of the sanctuary. If you've never been in St. Pat's, the mural behind the altar was very orange and kinda overwhelming. But if you look closely, there is some true art there. The mural depicts the Last Supper but you can also see a woman, Mary, standing behind them, wrapping her arms around them. After the priest pointed this out in a homily, all I see is Mary. With the altar and tabernacle removed, I was able to get a picture but my kids still can't see her face. If you are looking, her chin is just about the crown and there is a dove on her right forehead.
All in all, the summer is going well but very fast. Please come back soon for camp pictures.
