First Steps Already!

Well, she did it.  After taking a 2 hour nap at 3PM yesterday, Cecilia was not at all interested in going to sleep last night.  So she decided to take her first steps instead.  I've been holding her hands and having her walk to me for awhile now.  Last night I was able to slip my fingers out of hers and she took 2 or 3 solid steps all by herself.  And then she repeated the performance a few minutes later.  Now onto some pictures.

I found her sleeping like this one day.

This sequence of pictures is great.

Oh, hello Dad!

You have a camera!

So I'll be cute.

I should also mention that young Cecilia conquered the stairs the other day.  I stupidly did not put up the gate before I went upstairs to put away sheets and she followed me.  Her guardian angel must be working over time because I found her in the upstairs hallway and not falling down the stairs.
The first week of school went well for Pat and Becca.  George gets to unpack his backpack tomorrow and he'll be off the preschool next week.  We have started to pack up all our stuff and get the paperwork completed for our move across town.  Wish us luck!

First Day of School!

As excited as I've been for this day to come, I'm at a bit of a lost today as my kids start school.  Here is our "old" 2nd grader.  He has grown so much!

Our sweet Rebecca is now in Kindergarten!  She said she was a little scared but I don't think that will last long.  I'm so proud of her!

Our school kids!

Don't forget George.

Here's all four kids.  You can tell from these next few pictures how goofy they were.

Outside of school, ready to go in the door.

Patrick is all ready to go for 2nd grade!

And Becca outside her classroom ready to conquer the academic world.

I must be really boring or its too quite because both Lia and George are asleep right now.   Maybe George will revisit napping with the other two at school?  I hope all of you have a blessed school year.   More pictures soon.

August is Rolling On!

At the end of July, Becca went to a pool party for her friend Ella's birthday.  Can yo guess what the two girls bond over?  Thanks Trish (Ella's mom) for the picture.

Then there was the night I found this after putting Lia to bed.  The picture didn't turn out so well but George had hanged his blanket and giant caterpillar over the headboard and lined all his stuffed friends across the pillow.  Normally the remain in a pile at the foot of his bed.

George loves books, just like the bigger too!

Caught in the act!

After two years, we headed west to Winterset to see my folks.  Lia found the accommodations just fine.

The other three LOVED running around the yard, playing with the pets (they named a cat Jedi) and just hanging with Grandma and Grandpa.

We also took the time to meet up with my friend Hannah who just moved back from Australia.  Although I'm sad I didn't get to go visit her while she was there, I was very glad to meet her son Oliver.

Becca, of course, asked to hold him and did a great job.

Lia love Oliver until I held him.  Then she wasn't so sure.

Lia has discovered a new way to communicate.  When Patrick blew a raspberry at me yesterday, she turned around to him, smiled, and blew one back!

School starts in less than two weeks and we've already started doing school stuff.  With the preschool/kindergarten picnic and pool party of Friday, the summer is really feeling over.  But, as Patrick and Becca go off the school, I'll still have George around until after Labor Day and then Lia and I will have to figure out what to do with each other.  We're still waiting for a buyer for the house but you don't want to hear about that source of frustration and stress.  I hope life is treating you well and we appreciate all the prayers and love you can send.

More...well Less Teeth!

Miss Becca hit herself in the face the other day with the jump rope and loosen two already wiggly teeth.  Yesterday afternoon, tooth #3 came out!

Here she is this morning with her quarter from the tooth fairy.
The tooth right next to the now missing one was extremely lose too.  Here is a close up so you can see how funny she looked!

Tooth#4  gave way this morning as well with some minor manipulation from me.  Now she has a HUGE gaping hole in her mouth.  She looks even cuter than normal!
