Colorado Part 5

We are finally at the last  of the Colorado posts!  But is a long one so hang in there.

For our third, finally, and most difficult hike, we took a bus the the trail head.  This was the first public transportation for some of the kids.

This hike started of with a lot of fallen trees and sunshine.

There was a lot more up and down and the trail was not as well marked as the others.

Lunch was again in a very scenic location, this time by a large waterfall.

We were also greeted by a mountain goat.  This shot was taken after he had come within 5ft of Patrick trying to get some lunch.

The water was cold but very welcome after the difficult hike up.

The climb back down was longer because we kept loosing the trail. Patrick was been so great about bringing up the rear and helping Mary all week. I told him and Becca to go ahead at their faster pace.  They forged ahead but Becca took a wrong turn and kinda got lost.  But she was smart and went back they way she came until she found the turn and us shortly after.  She was a bit panicked but alright.

Some captured this amazing sunset.

I was asked by the littlest girls to take a picture of the point in Patrick's hair.
We made our way back to St. Louis and the the much missed Miss Tilly.  She had a blast with the little cousins and Ellie, their puppy.  But she was also happy to go home.

I think this sums up the last leg of  the journey home perfectly.
We definitely made some life-long memories on this trip.  There was minimum fighting and bickering and no one had any major injuries.  Thanks for sharing in our Colorado adventure.
