Almost Christmas

Here we are just a little over a week away from Christmas and the kids are still as cute and sweet as ever. Becca had her first taste of Oreo this week. DO you think she liked it?

I caught Becca driving a little car around the living room.

And Patrick helping Becca, or at least he thinks he's helping.

But she can generally take care of herself.

Patrick loves to read and to be read to.

Becca is just learning to love books.

They're fun to dump on the floor.

Mike took this silly picture.

We went to a church potluck and Patrick got to sit with Santa.

Today we had a play date and Becca found the Showalter's Princess Jasmine headband.

Here my nutty kids are playing in a toy bin.

So Sam got in on the fun too.

I can't think of any specific crazy thinks Patrick has said this week. Becca has been heard saying "hi Dad","ba" (ball), and "Ma ma ma ma" when she's not happy. We hope you all have a wonderful week.

Even More Pictures

There has been a lot of competition in our house this week. One day, Becca found Patrick's hat and put it on her head.

So Patrick did it too.

Becca climbed up on a chair...

...so Patrick did too.

I yelled at them both to get down right after I took this picture.

Despite this competition, there has been a lot of sharing as well.

Here Patrick is pulling Becca behind him as he rides the trike.

My Daddy is so strong. He can hold me up with one hand.

Here are some more shots of the kids in front on the tree.

Patrick wanted to make sure Bruce was in the picture too.

This week's quote: The kids and I need to get out of the house. Patrick wants to go to Target, but its getting late in the afternoon and I don't want to drive that far just to get out. So I suggest we go to K-Mart right here in Washington. He protests and wants to go to Target to which I say not now. He says "Maybe later," pauses and finishes with "but don't count on it." I laughed so hard I ended up locking my keys in the car.

Picking out the Tree

We took a lot of pictures this week. This post will be those we took on Sunday, the day we picked out this year's Christmas tree. We invited our friends, the Showalters, to join us and their girls had a blast. Here is Becca all bundled up out on the farm.

Patrick found a tree he likes.

First, Patrick helped Mike cut down the tree.

Then Sam got to help.

This is Patrick Showalter and Pia watching Mike cut down the tree.

My manly husband and his conquered tree.

After freezing our butts off, we all went out to dinner. Patrick, Sam and Pia had a great time as we waited for our table.

After dinner, we went to the East Peoria Festival of Lights. Here are some of the awesome displays they had.

Patrick really loved the dinosaurs.

This is a little fuzzy but its Elliot from Pete's Dragon.

The USS East Peoria

And a TIE Fighter....

...fighting an X-Wing. You can see the shots being fired!

I'll close with some super cute pictures of the kids in front of the tree.

Thanksgiving at Sullivans

We took the kids to Iowa for Thanksgiving and had so much fun we forgot to take out the camera most of the time. I did get this picture of Patrick sporting Grandpa's hat. Isn't he styling?

Grandma show Patrick how to build a fort out of cushions and he figured out how to take it down.

Becca helped.

After a long car ride on Sunday, the kids and Mike did some much needed wrestling.

The kids also showed me Bruce the T-Rex, complete with sound effects.

Becca is biting everything, much like a T-Rex. Maybe they were always teething?

We have another quote from Patrick. We went out to dinner Friday night to take a break from turkey. Patrick was sitting next to Grandma Sullivan having a interesting conversation. I don't know what lead to this comment but I heard Patrick say: "Grandma, you're a sandwich." My mom laughed so hard she cried. I think both grandparents enjoyed the silliness and all the smiles just as much as the kids. Happy December all, we'll talk next week.
