The Philly Zoo

Patricia, being the awesome aunt she is, got a zoo membership and showed us a great day. Let's start with Becca monkey.

Nobody told the kids to put their hands down.

Our first animal and I don't remember what primate it is.

This fountain greets you as you enter the zoo.

Next we checked out the kangaroos.

We were lucky enough to see some tortoises getting friendly. One kid in the crowd thought they were trying to escape.

A peacock and his hen.

Patrick and Becca go in for a closer look.

This penguin must of had a hard time finding a cool place. It was well about 90 degrees.

The polar bear managed to find a way to cool off.

The rhino tried to hid but Mike found him.

A zebra

Patrick really wanted a closer look at the animals. Too bad he didn't have a quarter and kept pointing it up to the sky.

The giraffes were awesome.

A gazelle

This is a weird looking bird but I kept my cool in the dreaded bird house.

Becca needed a boost to see the flamingos.

When she saw them she said "Look, they're my favorite color..pink!"

This could be seen several time through out the week and it was cute every time!

We took a hot-air balloon ride and got to see some more of the city.

Cool frog.

A turtle.

More reptiles, crocodiles.

This a pig-nosed turtle, big hit with the kids.

The kids in front of the boa.

Patrick checks out the frog.

Here the young orangutan climbed down to get some food from Mom and then back up eat it.

George was not too happy to get back into the backpack.

Here is a lion. Becca really liked the lion.

We ended the day with a train ride. Mike really enjoyed taking my picture.

Patricia, thanks for spring for the big membership which got us into the zoo, on the balloon, and whatever else we did that day.
