End of July Already?

School starts again soon and the summer is almost over.  We've managed to keep busy and not kill each other...yet.  Let's begin with the girls at George's baseball tournament game.

Floor time!

Looking good in sparkles.

George will do anything to make Mary laugh.  Like this silliness.

Patrick decided to take some pictures of me holding Mary.  I'm only going to share a few.

Imaginations flow free in our basement and sometimes trickle up the stairs.
On the way home after a long, hot, fun day at a lake.

But Lia's still wide awake!

George and Mary just hanging.

She looks so sweet.

There is usually a fight over who gets to hold Mary.  This morning Patrick got a chance.

As I said, school starts in about two weeks.  Swim team and swimming lessons are finished, Totus Tuus (vacation bible school) was this past week, and we're all starting to get on each other's nerves.  I think we can make it to Thursday which is Prep Day and then everyone will be switching to school mode.

George has his first loose tooth (really there's two) and Becca and Pat both have some ready to come out as well.  Mary is drooling up and storm and you can see the teeth right under the gums.  Lia's teeth remain fulling in tacked.  Mary has been busy trying to do several things at once but she finally decided to roll over again today, twice.  Then she scooted across the floor for a bit.   All in all, everyone is healthy and fairly happy.

Summer Moves On

It has been a busy summer.  George started swimming lessons this year so here's a picture of us at the pool.

Patrick making Mary smile.

A few weeks ago Becca lunched herself off a swing and sprained her wrist.  We we're sure if she broke it so we had to get an x-ray.  Here we are waiting to see the doctor.

But spraining her wrist didn't slow our Becca down.  That week she played 3 softball games and went swim practice 4 or 5 days (I made her take Monday off).

We made a trip to the candy shop last week to support St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Did you know it take 4 children a full hour to each eat a slushy?

Just being goofy at the pool.

I asked her to look sad.

Lia just wanted her picture taken.

Mary has been working on her roll over.  She gets on her side but seems afraid to let herself finish the task.  And then when she is on her belly, she pulls up her legs and pushes herself forward.  Slow down girlfriend, Mom is not ready for you to be mobile!

She really likes to be upright.

Our take on tummy time.

4 Months and Counting

Last week Mary turned 4 months old.  At her check up early this week, she weighted in at 12lbs 6oz and measured 25in in length.  She has grown so much and is right on par for a four month old.

Last Saturday, the Scouts helped out at a fundraiser.  Lia had fun on the playground.

Becca got her face painted.

We also had a Scout soccer game this week.  Mary's too little to play but she liked the ball.

Here our big girl is practicing her sitting.

Here is a video I shared on Facebook of the kids enjoying the Slip & Slide.

That's it for now.  There's a history of the videos not working for me on the blog so keep that in mind.

Summer Fun Begins

School has been out for three weeks and summer is in full swing. Here is a picture of the kids all playing nicely in the backyard.  I learned  right after taking the picture that they we're watching a wasp.

I keep trying to take a picture of Mary's red hair but its not working out.

My sister Pat recently went to South Africa and brought home these awesome soap stone figures for all her nieces and nephews.  These five are ours.

Since she first giggled, everyone has been fighting for Mary's attention.

Myself included.

With all the hours we've logged at the pool as Becca and Pat practice for swim team, George and Lia have found ways to keep busy.

I often get to start my day with this view.

Swim team for Becca and Pat, as well as softball and baseball for Becca and George keeps us on the move.  Mary has been pretty good about being hauled around, as long as I feed her whenever she wants.  Patrick and Becca have already met their summer reading goal of 15 hours but are now working toward the most hours logged.  All in all, we're doing fine.

Another Cub Scout

As some of you may know, one of George's life goals was to become a Cub Scout.  As of June 1st, he has done so.  We made a big to-do about it, meeting Mike at the council office to sign him up in person.  Here he is in the car.

Mike is a familiar face at the Scout office and had given them a heads up.  Bless them, they made it an event.
The district committee chairman gave George his first pin.
Time to turn in the application.

Our first family photo with all 7 of us visible.

Your not really a scout until you get your uniform!
As you can see, George is very excited about becoming a Tiger Scout.  Thank you to the Council who went above and beyond for our little boy!
