Eagle Scout

This weekend Patrick had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  He earned the rank last August but it took us awhile to get the thing planned out.  The Master of Ceremonies was Rebecca Hatton from Troop 2206.

George also got to be part of the color guard and told us what it means to earn the Rank of Scout.

Here's all the Scouts telling us about the ranks.

The honor guard escorting Patrick up to the front.

Troop 206 Scoutmaster talking about what it means to be an Eagle Scout, followed by Patrick giving his oath.

Then his parents were called up.  I got a pin!

And got to help Patrick put his metal on.

Mike got something as well.

And Mr. Frieland got a mentor pin.

Then we had to get the Eagle neckerchief on.  It was harder than it should have been.

Mr. Frieland held up all of Patrick's old neckerchiefs to demonstrate how he's grown.

Patrick had some brief remarks.  Really, he kept it short!

A smile on my grumpy teenager face.  Wow!

I will close with the family picture of the whole family.  I opted to not wear the Scout uniform.

On a side note, I was given an adult religious Scouting award on Sunday (2/19).  I have been helping the Cub Scouts complete religious awards since Patrick was little and started helping Scouts BSA members earn them in the last two years.
