The Rest of May

The last half of May was crazy busy.  Patrick and Becca read enough this year to win 1st place in AR (Advanced Reading) for their grades, and Becca won another for most in K-2nd.

Becca also won a Spanish award.  She does not get that from me!
While the big three were at school, Lia would do her best to entertain Mary.  Here she is "reading" her sister a book.

Mary has started to smile at us.  I able to catch a few with the camera one night before bed.

At the end of the year, St.Pat's has a Field Day.  George thought Mary should try on his hat.

Ready to go.

And not so much.

We made a trip to the sprinkler park where the kids tried out their gymnastic skills.

Summer is in full swing with three base/softball games and swim team already this week.  Mary isn't sure what to think of all the yahoos being around so much but they all want to entertain her.  It should be an interesting summer.

Just a Few More

We had more family meeting last week.  Great Grandma Hatton passed away the night before Becca's 1st Communion.  She would have been 87 last Wednesday and she will be missed.  Here we have the two Mary Hattons together at last.

Great Grandpa Hatton was very happy to finally meet Mary.

4th graders at St. Pat's all learn the recorder and join the band at the Spring concert.  Only Mary and I were able to go with Pat but he did a good job.

Mary has started smiling for us.  Here are a series of shots of me trying to share that with the world.

Today Mary is three months old and weigh about 10lbs.  It seems like we may have a redhead on our hands; even her eyebrows!  All the kids continue to be healthy, strong, and intelligent.

Mary's Baptism

We continued our busy weekend on Sunday with Mary's baptism.  Patrick was our photographer.

Mary with her parents and Godparents.

Getting ready to be blessed by Fr. Julius.

I really like this picture.

The Godfather, Justin, looks like a superhero.

George would not cooperate for this picture but he is there somewhere between Mike and me.

Patrick also took some shots of the crowd.

Chris was thrilled to be asked to be the Godmother.

My Aunt Joan was kind enough to make the trip from South Bend to join our party.  It was great to have her here.

Patrick seems to have an eye for a pretty picture.

All the girls love Aunt Teresa.

We will close with a picture of Mary with her Godparents.  Thank you Chris and Justin for agreeing to help guide our little girl in the ways of Christ.
