1st Grade Begins

Patrick stared 1st grade this morning.  It was just a half day but it sounds like he had lots of fun.

Becca and George were not to be left out of the photo shot.
This was taken by another mom in the 1st grade class this morning.  God bless Mrs. Hedden for taking these crazy boys on.

Anna's Wedding

A few weeks ago we made the trip to Wisconsin to witness my cousin Anna get married.  It was a lovely ceremony and the kids had a great time.  Here is Anna with her folks.

Here is Norah, looking somewhat confused with all the other kids around.

George and Jake had a good time together.

It was all to emotional for George so he took a short nap.
As we waiting in the receiving line, George enjoyed the flowers.

Becca and Clara had fun with the bubbles.

Jake too had his share of fun with the bubbles.

Then it was onto dinner and dancing at the reception.  As soon as the formal dances were done, the kids took the floor.

Becca, Clara, & Katie looking beautiful.

Anna and Matt did their share of dancing as well.

More dancing kids.

We did manage to acquire some injurers while in Wisconsin.  George slipped at the pool and his tooth put a pretty good hole in his upper lip.  Becca managed to burn her arm on Aunt Maureen's curling iron (both Maureen and I did everything we could to prevent it).  Even AJ managed to get stunk by a bee.  Despite all of that, this was a great wedding.  Thanks to Anna and Matt and their parents for a great time.

Independence Day Weekend

It has been a long time since we took out the camera but hopefully this post will make up for some of that.  We headed north to Lake Camelot to visit with the Hatton clan and celebrate the birth of our nation.  It wasn't long before the kids and the dogs were friends.

George's quickly found the Duplos and was busy for hours.

There was also lots of biking in the drive way.  Patrick got good enough that we let him ride in the street with Grandma Jan following behind.

We did make Becca stay int he driveway.

Patrick upon his return.  I think he had some fun.

Mike gave me his best face.

Great-Grandpa and Grandma look on with pride.

Mike decided to give biking a go as well but I think he needs a bigger bike.

We also had fun in back yard.  Here the kids helped out by picking up stick for the fire pit.

Gwennie helped too.

To celebrated Alan's 30th birthday, Becca picked him some flowers.

He was even nice enough to read the kids a book.

Tom showed George how his camera works.
The high-light of the birthday, for me at least, was all the kids playing with Legos.  Alan built  a great fortress complete with casualties.

On top of swimming every afternoon, biking and Legos, Mike managed to take each kid for a kayak ride.

It took awhile but finally got George to kinda smile for this picture.

Thanks to Mark and Jan Hatton for having all of us at your house for a long weekend.  The kids had a blast and it was wonderful to see so much of the Hatton family.  Thanks to Jan again for providing some of this pictures.  I hope you had a great weekend and I will try to take more pictures.
