Birthday Fun

Another birthday has come and gone for this too.  Cecilia turned 10 and Becca 15.  I still remember Becca begging me to have to baby on her birthday and telling how it would be so fun to share a birthday.  That didn't last long.

Mary didn't want to be left out.

And George was there.
This years birthday fest was take-out Chinese food and French silk and pumpkin pie for dessert.

Honestly, these girls amazes me everyday.  They are both fierce and feisty in completely different ways.  Cecilia is a bit too much of her mother for my taste.

Halloween and All Saints Day

Halloween is never disappointing in our neighborhood.  George splurged and bought a costume from a store.  I don't know what he's supposed to be.

Patrick was a lumberjack.  Good thing Mike was the same a few years back and we had the fake axe head.

Cecilia went a a sick person so she could wear her pajamas and Mary was a rad, scary doctor.

I didn't get a picture of Becca.  But here are the jack-o-lanterns.

The next day, we enjoyed the 1st grade class of  St. Pat's portraying some of the saints.  Our Mary was Mary the Mother of God.  Here she is processing with Saint Margaret of Scotland.

Not a great shot but here is the whole class.

On to October

October is full of soccer in this house.  With four older siblings and various people handing down gear to us, its not surprising that Mary had a shoe blow out on her.

Mike, Patrick, and Becca all went the O.A. weekend at ISR.  Becca completed her ordeal and the others went to help out.

Becca also had her first high school choir concert in October.  She's second from the left in the back row.

1st grade at St. Pat's means All Saints Day costumes.  Our Mary portrayed Mary the Mother of God.

We also had our Cub Scout fall campout.  The glowing Bobcat is always a big hit.

Mary lost #2.
I took my 4th graders to Dickson Mounds, a native American burial site in the area.  Despite the cold wind at lunch, I think everyone had a great day.

The kids had a chance to do some old school activities to know what the natives would have done

Other August - September Happenings

Before school started, I took the kids to Elevate to get out some energy.  They had a blast.  Here are some of my pictures.

Becca started swimming for the high school this fall.

Mary all decked out in her Tiger Scout uniform.

George and I participated in religious retreat day out at ISR in Septemberas part of the Ad Altare Dei emblem.

September also included a trip to the ER for George.  With the hail damaged we got, there are a lot of new roofs in our neighborhood.  And they don't do such a great job catching all the nails in the yard.  George did a great job finding one with his foot.

If there is a right way to step on a nail, George did it.  The x-ray showed the nail was right at the bone but did not go through.  He didn't like it felt with the lidocaine so he had some laughing gas as well.  Good thing because the mask over this mouth muffled the screaming as the doctors pulled out the nail.  There wasn't any blood on the nail and just a small dot on his foot.
