XC and Fall Soccer 2021

This teaching gig has kept me very busy but I finally had some time to post some pictures from the last 2+ months.  Here we go.  We'll start with Mary being Mary.
She was happy with the call on the soccer field.

But she got over it and scored some goals.

Becca also ran her last XC season at St. Pats.

Patrick also attended his first high school dance but it was at a classmates house!  He enjoyed the chance to use his new swing dancing skills.

Mary also lose her first tooth at the beginning of October.  She as sense lost another one,

Here's Becca running at Sectional this year.  Although she did not make the cut for state, we consider it a very successful XC season.

Back to School

We had a lot of first day of school this year.  I was the first to head back as a teacher.

Patrick was very happy to start 10th grade at Chesterton Academy of the Sacred Heart.  He's having a great time and learning a lot.
He wanted a serious picture as well.

Becca is in the last year at St. Patrick (8th grade) and full of sass.

George got a few days at home by himself as everyone else started on Monday.  6th grade is going well so far for him.

Cecilia is not to be out sassed by her older sister as she goes off to 3rd grade.
Mary is finally starting Kindergarten and is very excited to join her siblings at school.

As always, here's a shot of all the kids doing goofy things.

And one nice one for mom and the family calendar.
We are just over two weeks into the school year and I'm starting to feel like I know what I'm doing.  My kids have adjusted to the hot weather and mask wearing and I have no voice from telling 4th grades to sit down and be quiet.  Hopefully I will be able to find time to keep this blog up in the future.

The Rest of Summer

This was a crazy busy summer for the Hattons.  Patrick had his first job de-tasseling corn.

The Cub Scout pack played kiddy-pool kick ball.

Mike, Patrick, and Becca all were part if a High Adventure crew that went up the the U.P.

Tilly wanted in the picture too.

George built this cool structure.

Becca's butterfly garden bloomed beautifully.

Cecilia continued her softball career.

And George enjoyed his siblings sporting events.

Becca also attended NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) for Scouts.

After 12 years, we went to our last preschool/Kindergarten picnic for St. Pats.

Mary also had Unpack your Backpack hour at school before school started.  Mom didn't realize she should be in uniform for this hour but she didn't seem to care.  Here she is with her buddy Owen.

That's for the summer.  Come back for beginning of school pictures.

Summer is Flying By!

Summer is somehow 1/2 over already.  We started the season by manning the water station at the Good Neighbor Day's 5K run with Pack 168.

This was Mary's first official Scout event.
Cecilia is enjoying softball again this summer.  She was very excited to get #4.

Here are some action shot of her hitting.

We celebrated the last day of school at Pizza Ranch when George was finally finished.

Becca looking stylish as we wait.
Tilly's life is hard.
Rebecca is busy swimming again this summer.  She really missed it last year but somehow got faster.  She does free style, backstroke, some IMs, and her favorite, breaststroke.

George built this cool structure at the library.

Last week, George went to Boy Scout camp without any one else in the family.  He had a great time despite all the rain.

The girls and I went to the pool while he was gone.  We got it, got wet, then someone saw lightning.

Here's my boy eating lunch after a week at camp.  He was thrilled to have his picture taken.

Our neighborhood had a Independence Day bike ride with donuts at the end.
It has been a nutty summer so far.  I am going to teach again this fall so I've spent a lot of time preparing for that adventure.  Besides softball, t-ball, swim team, and Scouts, Mike is working hard to build Patrick his own room in the basement.  He's making progress with what little chunks of time he can find.
