More July Fun

We headed north once again to celebrate the birth of our nation with the Hatton clan.  Everyone loves riding in the car.

When we stopped for dinner, the place with Paul Bunyan outside was closed.  So we found a park and figured out our next move.  The dinosaur was fun!

Mike took Patrick and Great-Grandpa out for a canoe ride.  All had a good time.

I finally kept my promise and taught Becca the basic of sewing.  Grandma Jan had given her some squares which she used to design a quilt for her doll.

She did a pretty good job but got very upset when she messed up.  I told her it was just a learning opportunity.  I will use what she pieced together to learn how to quilt (not just sew the pieces together, which is all I've done thus far).  Life continues to be busy but we have some down time this week to recharge.

Summer Sports and More

I'm trying to catch up on all the pictures from the past couple of months.  How about we start with George in the dug-out for T-ball.  He always got to bat first so the coach remembered that he was a lefty.

Here is Becca's softball team.  They made it all the way to the semi-finals.

Playing catcher.

Patrick played a lot of right field this summer.  But his favorite position was on the bench.  Seriously, that's what he told me.

In the dugout.  Pat's team lost in the first round of the tournament after a pretty good season.

We also have spent a lot of time at the pool for swim team.  Lia liked to be a pain in the butt and wrap herself in other's towels.

I'm not sure how George got this way, but he meant to do it.

Another exciting meal at the Hattons!

Come back soon for Independence Day weekend pictures.

Where Has the Summer Gone?

This summer Pat and Becca joined the Washington Waterjet Swim team to improve their swimming skills.  There is a lot of waiting around so we took pictures.  Becca and her buddy Emily.

George is forever building awesome somethings out of Legos.  Here's one of those creations.

The girls got their faces painted.

Then Lia promptly fell asleep in the brown chair.

George's is all ready to go to T-ball!

I don't think we've had a day off since school finished.  The weather has gone from boiling hot to storming to cool and back to hot.   Which makes us all extra crazy!  But our summer activities are almost finished and then we'll be getting ready for school.

It Has Been Too Long!

I'm sorry its been so long.  Our computer crashed and I've been trying to find everything again.  So here are some pictures I had the upload fine.  First, George flying a kite.

Lia brushing her teeth.

Becca playing catcher.

The girls being silly.

Becca was invited to a ballerina birthday party.

The kids are going to be in their aunt wedding next fall and I made some of their outfits. The boys are wearing vest (they just look really short).
And the girls' dresses turned out really great.  Thank you Manna/Kate Sullivan for doing the crazy sleeves!

It was too much for Lia so she took a nap.

I don't know what George is doing but he sure is cute.

 Watching Pat play the game.

Our summer is in full swing.  Becca and Pat have joined the swim team, which just means they swim every weekday earlier in the morning.  We have soft/base/t-ball almost every night, summer reading program at the library, and Patrick has Day Camp this week.  Lia is following in my footsteps and being dragged along to everything. But we're all tan already and loving life.

Lot of Pictures

Okay, I have all this pictures to share so enjoy.  The girls at soccer.

Snuggling on the couch with George and Lia.

Enjoying the dirt next door with the neighbor kids.  This is a brand new house that no one has moved into yet.

Becca dropped to the ground as I took this picture.  She's not hurt, just silly.

We went to the Gamma Phi circus at Illinois State last month with the Cub Scouts.

Lia spent most of the time switching from Mom's lap to Dad's lap and back again.

For Earth Day Becca made a dress out of recycled materials.  This is what she designed.

It has been a busy month but I think that's just the way life is with four kids.  Despite our adventures this morning, we are all healthy and loving life.
