George's First Day of PK4

Last night George had his first soccer game of the season.  I guess Lia was feeling a little left out because she ran into my shot.

CRASH!  He's supposed to be on the ground.

On the side line.

After missing the official first day, George was well enough to go to school today.  He was very excited.

 Those crazy Hatton kids.

Waiting for the teacher to let us in!

Here he is from last week's Unpack Your Backpack.

We waited our turn to go in, he found his name, hung up his bag, and was gone by the time I was finished signing him in.  No hug for me!  Oh well, I guess we did a good job getting him ready for school.  Lia and I were busy running errands this morning so we'll see what she does with herself tomorrow.  I'm very proud of George and will miss his silliness in the mornings.

What a week!

It was so hot and humid last week that the kids got out early of the heat schedule.  We decided to let them run through the sprinklers.

Extreme close up!

We gotta have the light sabers Mom!

George fell off the couch and got a great scrap on his forehead.

On Saturday, Cecilia woke up from her nap feeling a bit warm.  She decided to go back to sleep on her dad instead of watching football.

Then George threw up.  They both had a fever Sunday morning so I took them to PrompCare and sure enough, they both have Hand, Foot, & Month disease.  Yuck.  Here's Lia's foot this morning.

Both George and Lia don't seem to be bothered by the rash but it is still spreading.  Poor George had to miss his first day of preschool today, but this is one time I don't want him to share.  Please say a prayer that this passes quickly and without complications.

Third Day of School

Mike and I were out of town this Monday when Pat and Becca started school.   So we did it today, the Third Day of School!  Here we have the tradition "by the door" shot.

This was supposed to be just Becca and Pat, but Lia had other ideas.

Grandma took some like this the other day so they kids wanted to do it again.

"Can we do a crazy one Mom?"

By the school sign.

The principle and the teachers were nice enough to let me come into the school and take some pictures.  First is Becca at her 1st grade desk.

Then Patrick at his 3rd grade desk.  Madden (the young man behind Pat) wanted to make sure he was in the picture too.

The kids already love school and their teachers.  I'm looking forward to picking them up today but kinda miss them right now.

Air Field Trip

Last week Becca's Daisy troop took a field trip to the Air National Guard base.  The kid had a great time.

Getting ready to watch the fire truck shot some water.

 All the kids.

We even got to go inside a big plane.

It was pretty windy in there.

Big girl.

The kids all had so much fun.  Thanks to Kim Phelps, Chris Showalter, and Trish Crull for organizing this event.

Outdoor Fun.

Last Sunday we went down to the corner to watch the St. Jude Runners come by and get sprayed by the fire truck.

 Here are all the runners.

We know have two giant holes in the lots to our north.  I had to say no several times when the kids asked if they could go outside this week.  But today they finally got to climb on the dirt pile.

Hi Becca!

Mike even took Lia up.

Excelsior!

The boys.

Then Mike got silly with George and Lia on the swing.

School is right around the corner so we're trying to cram in as much summer fun as we can this next week.

August is Here

Today we have a hodgepodge of pictures from the past month.  First we have the kids at the library.

Becca went to a birthday party at Build-A-Bear.

Lia had fun with our neighbors pool and water table.

She kept saying "I wet."

She loved it!

Yesterday was our school Prep Day when everyone comes into bu lunch tickets, sign up for things, and bring in their reams of paper.  Patrick made it his job to collect and organize all the paper.  Here he is with Becca and his friend Ellie doing just that.  Thanks Peggy for the picture.

Our summer vacation is coming to a close.  The school picnic and pool party are tomorrow already, then one more week until school starts!
