Blue-Gold 2014

Last week, our Cub Scout pack, lead my Mike, had the Blue-Gold Banquet.  For entertainment, each den performed a song.  The Wolves sang "God Bless My Underwear".  Patrick really hammed it up.

Lia loved all the clapping and running around.

The Cub Master had each parent (I got to do it!) paint a paw on their scout's cheek while telling us the symbolism.

Here is Pat with all his new patches.  Sorry for the 'smile' but he does that for some reason.
I have no idea what Patrick is doing but its that same look on his face.

Here's Mike explaining the Arrow of Light right before he awarded it.

Mike asked why I took this picture.  I thought it was kinda cool with him next to the cross.

It was a nice night, the kids had a blast running around like crazy-nut-jobs and Mike did a great job.

Daddy-Daughter Dance

Tonight is the Saint Patrick's Daddy-Daughter Dance.  Becca and Mike got all gussied up and headed out for an evening of desserts and dancing .  Here's Miss Becca all dressed up in her new dress.

 Don't they look nice?

So cute!

We can't go very long with out being goofy at in this house.

UPDATE:  Here are some pictures the hostess shared with me from the dance.  First, Becca had to fix her tights because she took off her shoes.

They did the Macarena.

Dancing with Daddy.

Becca was so excited when she came home last night and Mike had a little sparkle in his eye.  I'm so glad her first date was so wonderful.

Is It Spring Yet?

I'm always amazed at how long February feels with only 28 days.  With all the snow and sub-arctic temperatures, we've been spending A LOT of time at home.  Becca used that time to create a new look for herself.

Lia has decided the high-chair just didn't cut it any more, so we wheeled her up to the table the other night for dinner.

She's very proud.

Becca is not to be out-cuted by her sister.

Nor George.  In case you were wondering, Patrick was at a birthday party for this meal.

She's a happy girl!

We enjoyed the nicer weather last week but we're right back to the cold and snow this week.  But I'm sure we'll hang on until Spring finally arrives.

George is 4!

Today George turned 4.  Its hard to believe he's that old already and at the same time, its hard to believe he's only been with us 4 years.  He asked for ice-skating ninjas on his cake and we accommodated.

 Time to open presents.

CAT trucks!

NINJAGO!  If you have a little boy, you totally understand what a big deal this is.

Next are several pictures of George opening the gift from his mom and dad (a monster truck with remote control and batteries!).  Just watch his face.

A Lighting McQueen tamborine.

Dinosaurs from Grandma and pa Hatton with dino t-shirt and book.

Time for the cake.  He loved having all of us sing to him.

Blow out the candles.

Way to go George!

We didn't do much else today but George seemed to enjoy himself.  I love the little guy and look forward to another exciting year with him.

New Glasses

I already shared these pictures on Facebook, but lets look at the kids in their new glasses.  I have no idea what George is doing.

Patrick is very excited about his new glasses.  He told me they look like Nicole Curtis's (Rehab Addict) glasses and I agree.

Here are Becca's very first pair of glasses.  The kids had to go the dentist yesterday after school so they still need to be adjusted, but she was very proud to wear them to school today.

What a beautiful girl she is!

Never one to be left out, here's George being goofy.

And little lovely Lia.

She is rocking the Irish Afro.

We've managed to come through the Arctic Vortex fine and we're starting to see some rebuilding going on in our neighborhood.  Everyone is health and growing and keeping us busy.
